The damage waiver covers accidental damage from normal, careful use, so a routine mishap won't leave you paying for repairs. It does NOT cover damage from negligence or failure to use common sense, misuse or operating beyond the machine's limits, track or tire damage, intentional or reckless damage, or theft and loss — those remain your responsibility. If you carry your own equipment or general-liability insurance, check this box to drop the waiver, and get a certificate of insurance to us at least 24 hours before handoff.
✓ Damage waiver removed. You're covering any damage with your own policy —
email us your certificate of insurance at least 24 hours before pickup or delivery. The
coverage requirements (limits, loss payee, additional insured) are in the rental agreement.
The waiver covers accidental damage from normal, careful use only. It does
not cover negligence or failure to use common sense, misuse or operating beyond the
machine's limits, track or tire damage, intentional or reckless damage, or theft/loss — those stay
your responsibility.
How you'll pay
Return policy
Return it in the condition you got it. A $20 cleaning fee applies if equipment comes back excessively dirty.
Return it with a full tank. If it comes back low, we'll refuel it and bill the gasoline at the rate locked in when you reserve (currently $4.53/gal), plus a $10 convenience refuel fee.
You'll confirm these terms in the final step before checkout.
Your info
What compaction actually buys you
Loose gravel or sand settles on its own for years, and it settles unevenly. That is why a paver patio develops dips, why a shed pad goes out of level, and why a fresh gravel driveway grows potholes by the second spring. A vibratory plate drives the material together now, under 4,500 lb of force at 5,400 vibrations a minute, so it settles on your schedule instead of slowly over the next few winters.
Right jobs for it
Paver and flagstone base — road base under patios, walkways, and fire pits
Shed, hot tub, and slab pads before the gravel or concrete goes down
Trench and utility backfill where the fill is sand or gravel
Gravel driveway repair — potholes, washboarding, fresh rock
Post and footing bases, and re-setting settled areas around a foundation
How to get a real result
Compact in 2-4 inch lifts. One deep pile will pack on top and stay loose underneath.
Make 3-4 passes in overlapping rows, then a final pass across the first direction.
Slightly damp material compacts far better than bone dry or soaked. If it is dusty, wet it lightly first.
Let the plate walk itself forward — pushing hard on the handle does not compact faster.
When this is the wrong tool
A vibratory plate works granular material — gravel, road base, sand, asphalt. It does very little to heavy wet clay, which needs impact rather than vibration; that is a rammer's job, not a plate's. A lot of native Treasure Valley ground is clay-heavy, so if you are compacting the dirt that is already there rather than imported base rock, this may not do what you want. Ask us before you book and we will tell you straight.
