We load it at the ranch, but we don't supply a tow vehicle or a trailer to haul it home. You need:
2020 Caterpillar 259D3 Compact Track Loader: your own trailer rated to carry this ~9,000 lb machine (its GVWR has to cover the machine plus the trailer itself) and a truck and hitch rated to tow that loaded trailer. Our dump trailer can't be used to haul it.
16ft Iron Bull Dump Trailer: a truck rated to tow this trailer's 14,999 lb GVWR (in practice three-quarter-ton or heavier), with a 2-5/16" ball on a hitch rated for the loaded trailer and a working electric brake controller.
If your setup isn't rated for it, we can't load it. Not sure? Choose delivery and we'll bring it.
Fuel rate is Boise, ID retail diesel $6.52/gal + 5%, updated Oct 30, 2026, locked in when you reserve.

The damage waiver covers accidental damage from normal, careful use, so a routine mishap won't leave you paying for repairs. If you carry your own equipment or general-liability insurance, check this box to drop the waiver, and get a certificate of insurance to us at least 24 hours before handoff.

Return it in the condition you got it. A $75 cleaning fee applies if equipment comes back excessively dirty.
No fuel deposit? Return it with a full tank. If it comes back low, we'll refuel it and bill the diesel at the rate locked in when you reserve (currently $6.85/gal), plus a $50 refueling fee.
With the fuel deposit (always included with delivery): after the rental we refill it at the ranch and refund every gallon we don't put in. No refueling fee.

What a track loader gets you
The 259D3 carries its ~8,990 lb on rubber tracks instead of wheels, so it puts down roughly 6 psi — about what a person standing on soft ground does. That is the whole reason to rent this over a wheeled skid steer here: it will cross a wet spring pasture, a septic field, or an established lawn and leave tread marks instead of ruts. The vertical-lift boom raises the load straight up rather than swinging it out in an arc, which is what you want when you are loading over the side of a trailer or stacking pallets.

Getting it to your site
At nearly 9,000 lb this is not a machine you move behind a half-ton. When we deliver, it rides out in our 16ft dump trailer and that haul is part of the delivery fee, so you do not need to rent the trailer just to get the machine delivered. Rent the trailer, at the bundle rate, only if you want it to stay on site for hauling during your rental. If you are picking it up yourself you need a trailer and tow vehicle rated for the loaded weight — if you are not certain yours is, choose delivery and we will set it where you want it.
