Hello, we are the Gosch family and have bred our first litter in august. After falling in love with our first hedgehog, Cosmo, we started breeding hedgehogs. After moving to Idaho two years ago, we have been socializing our hedgehogs and confirming they are the healthiest they can be. Even though we may be new to the hedgehog breeding community, we are confident to continue in the future.
Our hedgehogs 100% do not genetically carry Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome and show no signs of any current health issues. We are not PSDA licensed, but plan to be in the future as we become more experienced in breeding. Our babies go to the vet first thing after 4-6 weeks old to insure no defects or health issues. If you have any questions, contact us or check out the T.O.S.
Our T.O.S states the rules and conditions of owning a Running Duck Farm hedgehog and the terms that seek from purchasing a hedgehog. You must read the T.O.S before setting a reservation. Click below to read our terms and conditions.

Here at Running Duck Ranch, we feed all our babies the best food and water. For food, we use Spike's Delite (a food brand made specifically for hedgehogs) to feed all our babies. When you come to pick up a baby, you will be supplied 1lb of their food, but you are to supply them once the 1lb bag runs out. If you can't use Spike's Delite, (Although it is highly recommended), you can use cat food as a replacement. If you'd like to use hedgehog specialized food, Its recommendd to do your research before buying any kind of specialized food as for the brand could give the hedgehog an unbalanced diet.
For water, we use tap water from our well. If you use tap water, make sure it is filtered from bacteria. As well, try not to change up the hedgehog's water supply, as the hedgehog may be picky if the water tastes different. All our hedgehogs drink water from a water bottle made for rodents to reduce mess, but you can use a small dish to hold the water (be aware, hedgehogs tend to tip over things in their cage).
At Running Duck Ranch, we use a 35"L x 17.25"W cage for our hedgehogs, although bigger the better. The recommended size is 2ft x 3ft, any lower may minimize the hedgehog's playspace and may cause stress. Your hedgehog may try to climb their cage due to the new environment, and this may hurt the hedgehog if the walls are wired. To discourage this behavior, having a glass-walled cage would work. If you can't get one, you can use a clear vilyn roll (large clear tape) to stop the hedgehog from climbing,
For shelter, we use any small animal hut such as an igloo, reptiles hut, hamster hut, etc. Make sure their hut is big enough for them to comfortably lay down. For a wheel, we recommend any large wheel that can fit inside the cage. Using any wired wheels may cause the hedgehog to hurt their toes, so any smooth or soft surfaced wheel will work.
For heating, we recommend and use the Sunbeam heating pad (stays on until you manually turn it off). Although, an alternative is to use a heating lamp. Make sure your hedgehog isn't oveheating or cold by using a thermometer (should be between 75 to 85 degrees).
One of the most important things is getting the right bedding. Get a soft bedding made for hedgehogs, hamsters, sugar gliders, or ferrets. Use a natural bedding that doesn't have any toxins inside. Make sure you don't get bedding that isn't harsh like hay or wood chips.
Lastly, toys are a big must if you have a hedgehog. Having any small toys that jingle or rustle would suit best for a hedgehog. Make sure the toy isn't too small to choke on or too big to be able to play with.
